Biodegradable bottles

Biodegradable bottles

Worldwide, the proportion of water surface is about 70.7%. In this 70.7% there are about 2.2 million marine animals. They all suffer from the enormous environmental impact, mostly from non-degradable substances that end up in the oceans. Our associated company has developed a 100% biodegradable bottle, which is produced from 100% sustainable and natural raw materials. This is so-called organic "bio-based polyester" which is ideally suited as an alternative to plastic. The raw material is 100% derived from plants and not from rare and polluting raw materials and offers an excellent performance. The potential applications for this product include replacement for traditional FMCG items such as beverages etc, as well as use in the all-encompassing packaging industry and anything previously filled in PET bottles.

In order to counteract the global impact of environmental pollution in our oceans, GreenRock and its portfolio companies are in various stages of negotiations with globally active producers, manufacturers and suppliers of PET products or those packaged in PET.

This is an important step towards reducing and ultimately avoiding the direct pollution of our oceans by non-degradable plastics and the indirect worldwide pollution in all areas (food, cosmetics, etc.) by microplastics and other harmful substances. In order to satisfy as many customers as possible, our portfolio company manufactures a wide range of bottle shapes and sizes. They make bottles and jars from a variety of materials, including bio-PET, PHA, sugar cane and other compostable and bio-based materials. The type of liquid to be filled, such as chemicals, cosmetics, beverages, or the like, also determines the choice of material base.
